Exactly when Seoul International School recently opened in 1973, it was the head outside school since Korea’s opportunity from the Japanese augmentation to be totally seen by the South Korean Ministry of Education. The school graduated its underlying four-year auxiliary school senior class in 1978. As SIS created and broadened, the school required more workplaces and a greater grounds. In 1981, the current 8-segment of land (32,000 m2) site was picked, and the school structures were arranged with Korean plan subjects. The 150,000 square feet (14,000 m2) grounds was done somewhat more than four years sometime later. The progress to the current grounds was made in May 1985. Arranged in the city of Seongnam (on the edge of southeast Seoul), the school is around twenty-five minutes south of Lotte World, the Jamsil cable car station and Olympic Park. The school is arranged near the Bokjeong Station on Seoul Subway Line 8.
The Western Association of Schools and Colleges (WASC), arranged in California, guarantee Seoul International School for a six-year term in 1979. Coming about reaccreditations were gotten in 1985, 1991, 1997, 2003 and the spring of 2009.
