University of Derby – Description

Located in the heart of England, the University of Derby has built on their region’s heritage of innovation to provide industry-relevant, expert teaching, from foundation and undergraduate degrees through to postgraduate study and research. The University is home to more than 1,700 international students from 100 countries studying at both undergraduate and postgraduate level.

Rated Gold in the Teaching Excellence and Student Outcomes Framework and a top 30 UK University in the Guardian University Guide 2020, Derby’s academic strength is backed up by practical experience to ensure students are ready for a successful career. They offer a wide range of subjects which will help students develop the skills and confidence to aim high.

If support is needed – either with course or with life as an international student – the University’s International Student Centre (ISC) can help. Derby’s ISC was rated the best of all UK universities that participated in the International Student Barometer 2018, which measures international students’ experience of higher education.

Derby also came out on top in the International Student Barometer 2018 rankings among the UK Modern Universities group for the formal welcome given to students arriving at the University from overseas, and first among the UK Modern Universities group for multi-cultural learning and faith support. The Purple Flag awarded the city of Derby as being a welcoming and safe place with lots going on for international students to really experience British culture.
